Those Were The Days

I remember the days
When we played childhood games
Staying up till late in the night
Ending board games with a fight

The mockery playing upon my mind
Siblings are a genuine kind
Bestowed by the almighty
The bond lasting till eternity
Twenty years ago
This same path you took
The last one it seemed so
Your journey over, my insides shook
How would I be able to live
To our parents give
Love and support
When I myself needed to outgrow
My dependence on you
Your memories seemed real, so true
And each step that I took
Had me rethinking my moves
The path was the same
Only missing was your name
From the passengers list
Oh your presence, I so missed
Twenty years later, as I travel the same path
The journey has become an art
One that I keep relearning
To keep my ink flowing
