The Promised Land

Forgive me, if I dedicate some time
For my own growth and care
After all, I am responsible for my welfare
There is more to life than me and mine
Beyond the mundane , lies the promised land
Naive are those who expect a  magic wand

If I put myself, before you
It does not make my love less true
Maybe  under the guise of subdued emotions
You might have reared some fixed notions
I remain, in your heart
Learning this art
