Nostalgia

It’s that time of the year again, the last day of the academic year at school, for some. My adorable boys have been making pretty little greeting cards for their close friends, since a week now. Today is their last day in this grade and class, as their class will be shuffled in the next session. The boys had taken the cute handmade cards and chocolates to gift their friends, in the morning today. Slam books are being circulated too.

As they left for school with heavy hearts, I did my best to cheer them up, but it sent me back to my own school days, the last day. I remember the farewell party organized by our juniors, it was so beautiful and we had a great time. There was an air of sadness too, but each ending has a new beginning, right. This song “That’s what friends are for” was  the last song, we had sung together on stage, that day. Since then, this has remained in my favourites list.

There were tears in everybody’s eyes, the teachers had tried their best to enliven the atmosphere. To Meet and to Part is the saddest story of the human heart! We may not always be together, but yes, we shall always remember our friends fondly.

Memories, that’s all we have with us, till the end. I shall leave you with this song “keep shining, keep smiling, knowing you can always count on me, for sure. That’s what friends are for”
